Please Share - Community Apple Harvest Event - Free Apple Juicing Saturday at Canolfan Hermon on the 17th October from 10.30am to 3.30pm
On Saturday the 17th of October there will be a free apple juicing day - giving people the opportunity to juice their apples and learn about orchard craft from our expert Martin Hayes of Trust Juice. All juicing will be carried out by the Growing Better Connections staff team and dedicated volunteers. Depending on how busy the day is, people may have to wait for their juice. Why not have a chat with Martin about your trees and grab yourself a cuppa while you wait?
What to bring:
- Pre-washed apples - we can't juice rotten fruit,
- Your own juice containers,
- Apples for Martin to ID (Bring at least five of your unknown apples - from the same tree and makes sure they're all ripe)
- Pictures of any problem trees you might have,
- Any questions about pruning, grafting, orchard maintenance and design.
Please note the event has been risk assessed as COVID safe.
Today there have been similar events at Brynberian and St Dogmaels. Here are the photos from the Brynberian event. There is no need to pre-book, just turn up with your apples and your containers at the car park at Canolfan Hermon - SA36 0DT.
