Future Proof your Wheels 2040!
October 25, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Future proof your wheels for 2040
With a UK ban on new diesel and petrol cars coming into place in 2040, an event in North Pembrokeshire invites you to look at the alternatives. Neil Lewis – Wales’ very own “go to” electric car guru, owner and enthusiast, will be there with his car to pass on all you need to know about becoming an Electric Vehicle user. The event will show that electric vehicles are a user friendly current technology but will also look around the corner to see what else you might be driving by presenting the latest Hydrogen vehicles that are now on the UK’s roads. Daniel Blackburn, from Pembrokeshire’s Veg Oil Motoring, bizarrely, will be persuaded to stop talking about running vehicles on refined used cooking oil, and will instead present a users guide to hydrogen vehicles. Daniel is fresh from touring Scotland, in his veg oil powered vehicle, learning about the hydrogen vehicles and the infrastructure which is now in place there to deliver this new motoring future. It is hoped, but not confirmed that, Riversimple – Wales’ only hydrogen car manufacturer, will also present details of their “Tomorrow’s World” hydrogen vehicle. It promises to be a stimulating evening.
Like many other electric vehicle owners Neil Lewis would never go back to petrol or diesel cars. He says, “Apart from any else, I can leave any conventional vehicle standing at the traffic lights when they turn green.”
The event will be held in Canolfan Hermon Community Resource Centre (SA36 0DT) on Wednesday, 25th October 2017. Doors to the event will open at 7:30pm for teas and coffees with proceedings starting promptly at 7:45pm. This is an open event organised by Supporting Resilient Renewable Communities but please contact Daniel Blackburn on 01239 698768 if you hope to come to give the organisers an idea of numbers.
*A separate workshop will be held at 5:30pm just prior to this event on establishing electric car clubs with the support of the Robert Owen Community Bank Fund. Attendance at this separate workshop will only be available by pre-booking with Daniel or can be done here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/electric-car-shareclub-workshop-tickets-38938762888
